Autumn Aurora Adventure in Swedish Lapland

The long summer days in the Arctic region give way to a beautiful Autumnal experience, with opportunities during the day to enjoy the wilderness on several active adventures and nights which are dark enough for the northern lights to make an appearance.

If your bucket list includes seeing the aurora, but perhaps you’re unsure because of the cold winter conditions and darkness, then our Autumn break provides an excellent alternative. The conditions are perfect for exploring the stunning Rane River Valley in the heart of Swedish Lapland, taking part in optional activities including hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing, forest foraging, meeting a Sami family, and of course looking out for the mesmerising northern lights. In fact the autumn months are highly considered the best time to witness this natural phenomenon.

Your stay in Swedish Lapland includes two amazing experiences – the first two nights are spent at the Aurora Safari Camp where you’ll stay in a traditional Sami-inspired canvas tent, each beautifully furnished and decorated to a high standard and perched in the forest overlooking the lake. Then you will be transferred to the Arctic Retreat with just three luxurious wooden cabins in a beautiful and unique setting. At both locations you will be fully hosted and all meals are provided.

This is a very special experience, suitable for couples, families and a small group of friends travelling together.

ITINERARY

Situated 70 km from Lulea Airport, the private transfer to the camp takes you on a beautiful drive through dense forest areas, with a chance to spot some of the local wildlife on the journey. You will arrive at the reception house and then the last part of your transfer is a 10 minute trip by boat. The excitement of arriving at your destination by this method of transport only adds to the feeling of being completely remote and in the heart of the wilderness.

At the camp you get the chance to spend time out in the elements, whilst still being in comfortable surroundings. Here, you can ignore the day to day hustle and bustle of normal life, albeit for just a few hours and days, and enjoy listening to bird song and natural sounds of the forest. During your stay at the Aurora Safari Camp all meals and drinks are included, with breakfast, lunch, snacks and a 4-course dinner served every day, and a wide selection of beverages available.
