There are two options for transferring to the lodge. A coach transfer departs at 9am and takes you on The Arctic Route from Tromso to Sorkjosen, a 4 hour journey through the stunning wilderness. Alternatively, you can hop on a short flight to Sorkjosen, from where you will be met and transferred to the lodge.
On arrival at the lodge, check-in and settle into the cosy accommodation, enjoying a delicious evening meal before heading out for a northern lights activity.After breakfast, get ready for the day's activity - winter clothing is provided during your stay. Today you will embark on a thrilling snowmobile safari on the marked snowy trails through the beautiful surroundings, travelling deep into the mountains. First, you will receive safety information and instructions on how to drive the snowmobiles from the guide before heading out, driving in pairs with stops made to swap drivers and enjoy the arctic silence. Included in the trip is a light lunch with hot drinks. The duration of the activity is 4-5 hours.
Once back at the lodge, you have time to relax and appreciate the stunning scenery before the evening meal is served in the restaurant, perhaps enjoying a tipple in the Bivrost Bar afterwards.Close to Reisa Lodge, you’ll find some of Norway’s best snowmobile trails. Join a thrilling snowmobile adventure through the stunning landscapes of the Reisa Valley and the Finnmarksvidda mountain plateau. You’ll ride across wild mountain terrain, past endless snowy horizons and frozen fishing lakes. If you’ve ever dreamed of driving a snowmobile, this is your chance. With expert guides ensuring a safe and exciting experience, you’ll be in good hands.
At the lodge, you’ll get dressed in thermal suits and safety gear suited for Arctic conditions. After a short transfer to the starting point, your guide will provide a safety briefing and hands-on driving training before you set off. You’ll share a snowmobile with a partner, taking turns as driver and passenger. Along the way, there will be stops to capture the spectacular scenery. Your destination is a remote ice fishing lake deep in the mountains, surrounded by breathtaking nature. Here, you’ll set up camp, build a bonfire, and enjoy a traditional Norwegian snowmobile tour lunch.
Today you embark on a dog-sledding tour through the winter landscape of the Reisa Valley. On arrival at the kennels the eager huskies are yapping with excitement, so happy to see you with the knowledge that they’ll soon be running across the snowy trails, doing what they love best. The guide will show you how to handle your own team, and driving in pairs you take it in turns to be a musher and passenger. During the trip, you stop at a wilderness camp and enjoy some hot beverages and snacks before returning to the kennels. The duration of the tour is 3 hours.
Spend the afternoon at the lodge, relaxing by the log burner in the lounge and enjoying the views from the large panoramic windows overlooking the frozen river and mountains. In the evening, after dinner, head outside and find a remote spot for observing the elusive dancing aurora.
